James will be lovingly remembered by his children Sarah (Aaron) Dykstra, Andrew Nowak; his grandchildren Brooklyn, Jaxon, and Piper Dykstra; his mother, Mary Nowak (Licari); his brother, Edmund Nowak-Licari; his nephew, Anthony (Laura) Nowak-Licari; his grand-nephews Ethan and Nikoli Nowak-Licari; and many close relatives and friends.
James enjoyed working on his trucks, fishing, and camping. He worked for the last 15 years at Meijer, and before that he made replacement bearings for old engines, a process called re-babbitting, a rare talent.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, February 15, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. in Grandville. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 AM Thursday. Father Chris Rouech will officiate.
In honor of James, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
