Hugo Monarrez-Rodriguez

Hugo Monarrez-Rodriguez, age 41, went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 10, 2022. He is preceded in death by Alex Monarrez. He will be remembered by his wife, Wendy Monarrez; children Carolina, Isabella, Diego, and Felicity; parents Jose Ramiro Monarrez Lopez, and Maria Ciria Monarrez; siblings Daniel Monarrez (Lorena Monarrez), Arcelia Madera (Raul Madera), Elva Monarrez (Rey Ramos), Omar Monarrez (Norma Ramos); cousins Vidal Monarrez, Eddie Monarrez, and many more; along with many nieces, nephews, the Van Heck and Lopez family and friends.

Hugo was a hard worker and enjoyed his job very much. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. You could always count on seeing Hugo’s famous dance moves at parties and weddings – even during his OTF workouts and boxing classes, he just couldn’t help himself. He loved to dance. Hugo was always good at making his friends and family laugh and smile. His hobbies included fishing with his wife, children, brother, and cousins. He will truly be missed; he was a light that always shone bright, no doubt about it. We were so blessed to have such a loyal, loving soul in our lives for the short time we had with him. He will be missed beyond measure.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville, MI 49418 and 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Resurrection Life Church (Doors E and H), 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A service celebrating Hugo's life will be held immediately following the visitation on Friday morning with a luncheon following. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
