She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jim (Ella) Bluhm, Margaret (Phil) Haveman, Harold Bluhm, Jerry Bluhm, Cheri Peterson; daughter-in-law, Sherry Bluhm; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and one little blessing on the way; and many extended family and friends.
The best way to describe Helen was to start with her “heart of gold.” She loved people and especially children of all ages. She cared for and coordinated nursery in her church at Maple Hill, but one of her greatest passions was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Throughout the years, she visited many of her friends in nursing homes, wrote letters and cards for all occasions, and made many new friends during those visits. She enjoyed her cats, birdwatching - especially hummingbirds - and just being with people. Most importantly, she loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, which she lived out through her favorite verse, John 14: 1-3.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426 with visitation from 1 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Helen will be laid to rest next to Duane at Boynton Cemetery in Byron Center.
In memory of Helen and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jenison Bible Church - Missionary Fund. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
