Frieda Minnaar, age 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Minnaar; son, James Minnaar; sisters Tina Ploeg, Dorothy DeFouw, Bertha Boverhof; brothers Bernard Hemmes, and Clarence Hemmes.

Frieda enjoyed many hobbies: plumbing, wallpapering, carpentry, tiling, playing the piano, water and oil painting, upholstery, sewing, knitting, camping, crocheting, crossword puzzles, baking (including the best donuts), and playing cards with her sisters and family, which always turned into an all-day event. She was a member of the church choir, in addition to singing duets with her sister Joan.
Frieda was a beautician and seamstress. She sewed bomb parachutes during WWII. She also worked at Hekman’s Bakery and National Nail. Mom’s joy in life was to see her entire family become dedicated to their faith and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, with an hour of visitation prior to service at Lee St. Christian Reformed Church, 1261 Lee St SW, Wyoming. Pastor Kent Rottman will be officiating.
