Roberta “Bobbie” Lynne Buchanan, of Raytown, MO passed away peacefully at the age of 55, September 18, 2018. Bobbie was born in San Diego, CA on May 11, 1963 to Carol Lynne (Lewis) Taylor and Thomas Robert Brown. She had an older sister, Connie Sloan, and an older brother Ronald Taylor. Bobbie graduated from Ruskin High School in Grandview, MO in 1981. She, also, received her cosmetology license during her senior year of high school. During her youth, she was an active member of Job’s Daughters. Bobbie leaves behind two children, Danielle Elizabeth Buchanan-Burke, age 31, and Christopher Thomas Buchanan, age 28, and five grandchildren: Jayden, Conner, Asher, Mason, and Rebekah. Bobbie worked as a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri, after her daughters fight with cancer. She was involved in the Raytown PTA for 16 years. Bobbie was very into her children’s activities and was an active scout, dance, and cheer mom. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, and often participated in their karate tournaments and other events. Prior to her passing, she was a title clerk at Gail’s Harley Davidson, where she has been employed for the last three years. Bobbie, knew how to always put a smile on your face and help others in their time of need. Her caring nature was seen by everyone. Those that knew her would tell you her favorite things were crocheting blankets for everyone she knew and spending her time with all of her grandkids.
Her services will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 13 at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 E 79 St, Raytown, MO 64138. Services will be officiated by Larry Heenan, pastor of the church. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, who helped take care of her in her final months. Also, they would like to thank the individuals at McGilley and George Funeral Home for all their help during this time.
