Patricia Helen Stapleton

Patricia Helen Stapleton, age 93, of Grand Rapids, went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 25, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born in the early fall of 1925 in Toledo, OH to her parents, Godfrey and Gertrude Bart. She was a natural born artist and expanded her skills by attending the Kendall College of Art and Design. Some of Patricia’s interests included gardening and walking the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and was a founding member of St. Jude Catholic Parish. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas C. Stapleton Sr.; a daughter, Anne Stapleton; sister, Corinne Leidtke; and son-in-law, Charles Tumbling. Surviving are her children, Douglas C. (Sharon) Stapleton Jr., Mark (Kathleen) Stapleton, Katherine (David) Dubay and Kristen Tumbling; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marilyn Speth and Loretta McCambridge. Visitation will be Friday evening, March 29, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Rosary will be at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Ann’s Home, 2161 Leonard St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Another time of visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral mass beginning at 9:30 am at St. Ann’s Home. Please consider a memorial contribution in Patricia’s name to: St. Ann’s Home.
