Back in 1989 I was pregnant with one of the 23 Koepke grandchildren. Throughout the very difficult pregnancy, Patricia took me under her wing. She either called me or visited me in the hospital or at home every day. During her visits she would pray so fervently, and with such great faith, I knew my unborn son would be make it into this world unscathed. I cried with relief during every prayer. Then I would dry my tears as Patricia told me hilarious family stories, and one, or ten, of her funny, but thought provoking, witticisms. After every visit, she left me with a smile and a weight lifted. 
      We were blessed with a healthy happy hefty, beautiful baby boy-Michael Robby. And the Koepke clan embraced him. 
     Sadly, a few months later we had to move away to start a new job. But we kept in contact throughout his childhood. Patricia sent cards and photos. And both she and John and other family members  followed his sports and music. They came to his various events when they could. They were there for the big moments- baptism, a health scare, graduation. In 2016 Kay brought Patrica to see Michael Robby marry the love of his life, Erin. We were all so happy she was able to share in that very special day. 
     Patricia was one of the most thoughtful, caring, witty, strong, loving, present, and faithful  woman I have ever known. She leaves a legacy equal in magnitude to the way she approached life. She truly was larger than life. 
She will be greatly missed by many. 
But she didn’t leave a void, instead she left a treasure trove of memories for all who love her. 
Koepke family- I pray you find solace in those memories she left for you to share with the generations to come. And that you find comfort in the knowledge that she and John are together again. Their love and the spirit from which it came, lives on in each of you.

Sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. K. She was a special person and raised a loving family. I have a lot of fond memories from the riverside neighborhood, and your family is a big part of that. God bless.

What a wonderful, patient, kind, giving and very funny woman I was able to call my mother-in-law for 20  years. She was a beautiful grandmother to my children.   The 1st 8 hrs of Emily’s life were spent being rocked by her grandmother. This is where they formed their special bond. And Chris, she would push him in the swing for what seemed like hours, probably to her, but she talked with him and sang to him the whole time. When visiting she and John would walk to the Mission every day for mass. This was one of the peaceful enjoyments in their life.  Not a birthday or holiday would go by without her rendition of “Happy Birthday” or a holiday song. Over the past 20+ years we remained  close writing letters and talking on the phone. When I would come to Michigan we would always have a visit. I learned many things from this wise woman and for 43 years could always call her my friend. I will miss those letters and phone chats but I know where you are and you are smiling and singing for all those who are with you. Continue to watch over all of us Patricia. We will all miss you but you will be in our hearts forever. 

Grandma Koepke over the years wrote me (her granddaughter Emily age 36) several letters through the years. She instilled in me so much love over the years all through words on a piece of paper. I will cherish all the memories and letters we have shared. My two children Jackson and Addison (2 of her 7 great grandchildren) were even able to create a loving relationship through her letters. They only met her once and still always bring up Grandma in Michigan. Her letters will be passed on to my children and shared over the years to keep her spirit alive. She will be missed but never forgotten.

We acknowledge that it causes such a deep sadness and loss for Patricia to leave this Earth. She had such a strong spirit and vivacious laugh. She was amazing. She was a link to the past and history of our family and gave so much to those around her. She was certainly a lover of life and threw herself into it with gusto.  Our condolences to your family.  There is no one like her.
