An imaginative soul, Donna spent her time honing her artist talents. She enjoyed painting and pencil drawing. She created in many media forms including ceramics and memory boxes. When she wasn’t working on her art, she spent her career at Steelcase before retiring.
She was active in both the Civic and Circle Theaters. She worked behind the scenes of countless productions with the props and wardrobe departments. Donna also lent her beautiful singing voice to the local coral group Sweet Adelines.
Donna enjoyed reading; from a Harlequin romance to historical fiction, she loved a good book. She also was a fan of Britain’s royal family. Donna read every book and watched every movie she could about the history of the monarchy.
Most importantly, Donna was a loving mother and caring grandmother. Her pieces of art will become treasured keepsakes for everyone who knew and loved her.
Donna was preceded in death by her daughter Teresa in 2004 and her parents. She is survived by her sons: Rocky Rector and Steve (Denise) Rector; her grandchildren: Benjamin Rector, Laura (Mikel Bitson) Rector, Timothy (Sam) Rector and Cheyenne (Austin) Peterson, and her great-grandchildren: Vincent, Vyktoria and Haylee as well as many other relatives. She was patiently awaiting great-grandbaby #3 who is due to arrive in May.
A Celebration of Life for Donna will be held this Spring.
