Dixon Wesley Pease, aged 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his son James in 2004. Surviving are his wife of 66 years Betty; their children, Susan(Richard) Reminga, Robert D. (Linda) Pease, Donald A. (Susan) Pease; daughter-in-law, Marsha Pease; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Dixon was a graduate of Central High School, and Grand Rapids Junior College. He was active in R.O.T.C, and proudly served his country with the United States Army Air Corp. Music filled Dixon’s heart and soul. A singer since high school, he was past president of the Grand Rapids Schubert Male Chorus, the Michigan Male Chorus Association, and the Associated Male Chorus of America. Dixon will be remembered for his love of everyone, and he lived his life serving others. He was both a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, and worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, a Grand Rapids Press motor route delivery driver, and as a greeter at Sam’s Club. In retirement he was a faithful member of Golden K Kiwanis Club and looked forward to weekly club meetings. He enjoyed breakfast with the guys at Red Hot, and his work with Feeding America. He was a member of Second Congregational Church since 1950. Please join his family for Funeral Services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Second Congregational Church (525 Cheshire Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) You may greet his family for visitation on Friday evening at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 6-8 pm and again Saturday morning at church one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am.
