Brenda Kay DeVries

Brenda Kay DeVries, age 60, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2018. Brenda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Gloria DeVries. Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Marcia (Rick) Howard, Michael (Lora) DeVries and Brian DeVries; her nieces and nephews Rich (Kolleen) Howard, Christine (Paul) Tober and Theresa (Nick) Maksymowski, and her devoted friends. Brenda loved being part of her great nieces and nephews lives, Maddie & Jack Howard, Allie, Jackie & Gabbie Tober, and Adelle, Evelyn & Joey Maksymowski. Brenda worked for Spartan Stores, Inc. for 34 years. She started in Corporate Accounting, moved to Retail Accounting and then Customer Service. Brenda was devoted to volunteering for Special Olympics for 23 years. She coached softball, bowling and volunteered at winter and summer games. In 2000, Brenda was named Volunteer of the Year. In her spare time Brenda enjoyed golf, bowling and working in her yard. Funeral Services will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 7 PM, a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of West Michigan. The family would like to express their appreciation to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for their care and compassion.
