Vernell Cooper passed away December 18, 2014. She was born June 23, 1924 in Cooper, TX to John and Ada Smith. She grew up in Cooper, TX and attended Cooper High School. Vernell was a generous country girl with a beautiful smile. She enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking. Her favorite’s dishes to make were any good country meal, such as pinto beans, corn bread, green onions or fried okra. Vernell married Jack Cooper on December 22, 1966. They liked to watch Gun Smoke and Cheyenne together. They were also members of Inglewood Baptist Church of 15 years, and spent the last 11years as members of First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie. Vernell was an out-going woman full of compassion. She has been solely cared for by her loving husband for the past 6 years as she suffered with COPD and Kidney failure. She is survived by her husband Jack Cooper, daughters Ada Gambrell and Pat Vaughn, son Jerry Rhodes, step-son Victor Cooper, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1-3pm at Bean Massey Burge. Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:30am at Bean Massey Burge.
