Sandra grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas. She attended Diamond Hill Jarvis High School and graduated from Ft. Worth Christian Academy in 1962. After graduating she took a job as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell. In 1966 while hanging out with some friends at Branch Office Club she was asked to dance by Jack Pruitt. They danced and when it was over he began to walk away but she grabbed his hand. That was the only sign Jack needed, they began dating and on April 1, 1968 they eloped in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
The married couple staying in Ft. Worth with Sandra’s mother before moving out on their own in Arlington. They resided in Grand Prairie from 1976 to 1983 when they returned to Arlington. Eventually they settled in Crowley, Texas in 2011.
Sandra was a loving faithful woman who didn’t dwell on problems. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1992 after 29 years. While working she was a Union Rep for CWA, a member of the Church of Christ and a lifelong Elvis Fan. Sandra enjoyed cross word puzzles, bowling, playing putt-putt and her dogs. She was naturally optimistic, funny and loved to laugh.
Sandra was very independent and strong. She had a way of making every feel cared about and was the definition of self-less. Later in life she enjoyed traveling a little, going to the horse races and a good book. Some of her favorite reads included The Bible and To Kill A Mocking Bird. She also enjoyed watching old classic movies.
Sandra is preceded in death by her father Harold Robinson, grandparents Viola and Clyde Davis; mother-in-law Vera Gladys, father-in-law Howard Home Pruitt, aunt Evelyne Mitchell and cousin Tommy Davis.
She is survived by her husband Jack E. Pruitt; children: Jack E. Pruitt and his fiancé Robbin Porter, Angela Pruitt; grandson Layne Davis Pruitt, mother Angie Lou Davis Robinson, brother Harold Gene Robinson, aunt Betty Messer, niece Mandie Rice and her husband Matt, great nieces: Makayla, Jacqueline, Alyssa and numerous cousins.
