Phillip Wayne Rouw, age 84 of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021. He was born on April 15, 1937 in Van Buren, Arkansas, the son of Robert Oather Rouw and Lucy Daugherty Rouw.
Phillip enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country from April 1957 to March 1961.
A longtime Christian, it was through mutual friends from church that he was introduced to a beautiful young lady by the name of Sherry Joyce Johnson. They were married in 1970 in Duncanville, Texas. In 1972, they moved to Grand Prairie and became a members of the Freetown Church of Christ.
For over 35 years, Phillip worked in the banking industry until his retirement. After retirement he stayed active on the computer dealing with his finances. A hardworking man who was very conscientious in his work ethic. Phillip would always place his family life as one of his highest priorities. He was a loving husband, proud father, caring brother and uncle, and trusted friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Wanda and his son, Jason Scott Rouw in 2011. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Sherry Rouw; son, Darren Wayne Rouw; sister, Ellen Rouw; aunt, Patsy R. Johnson; cousin, Vicki Aldridge; other nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 9:30 am at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home. A committal service with Air Force Honors will follow at 11:15 am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
