Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet Hale; two sons - David Hale and wife Jennifer of Little Elm, Texas, and Greg Hale and wife Patty of Ponder, Texas; two step-children - Angie Patterson and husband Shawn of Celina, TX and Noel Vanhoose of Duncanville, TX; brother - Harold Hale of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law Marcele, and four grandchildren - Victoria, Micah, Julia, and Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his mother Esther Faye Hale, father Howard Hale, and brother Jack Hale.
Jim was born on April 14th, 1941 in Kern, TX. After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy where he trained as an Aircraft Metalsmith Mechanic where he excelled at his job and attained the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class after only two years. His hard work led him to a post-military position at LTV for 40 years working as a metal fabricator in the airline and aerospace industry. This work ethic was not lost on his children, nor doubted by any who knew him.
Jim’s life cannot be defined in just a few sentences. Jim’s hobbyists' passions ran the gamut, and he tried to excel at each of them during his life. He was an accomplished artist and worked in many mediums including painting, drawing, sketches, sculpture, and even digital media. He was also a decent martial artist in his younger days, videographer, sarcastic humorist, reader, devoted husband, and loving father. The world was always a better place with him in it.
Visitation will be at Bean, Massey and Burge Funeral Home (2951 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052) on Monday, December 10th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, December 11th at 11:30am. Immediately following will be a procession to Dallas / Ft. Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211) for burial service.
Jim’s family would like to express our deepest thanks to all the staff at Methodist Charlton Medical Center ICU and Harbor Hospice for the care and respect they had for a loving father and husband. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to the American Cancer Society.
