Howard "H. E." Eugene Butcher, age 88, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019. H. E. was born July 25, 1931 in Hubbard, Texas to Mable Irene Sanders Butcher and Charles Edward Butcher.
H. E. graduated high school in Texas and fell in love with his best friends younger sister. He married Mary Juanita Price on August 7, 1950 and they had 4 wonderful children. He attended Dallas Baptist University and graduated Bible Baptist Seminary in 1960 with a Bachelors Degree of Divinity.
While their children were young H. E. moved his family to Germany for 12 years while he worked in the missionary field from 1961-1973. Upon returning to Texas he opened several small business that he maintained from 1973-2019. He was fluent in German and obtained the nick name "Opa" meaning grandpa in German.
H. E. is survived by his wife, Mary J Butcher; son Mark Edward Butcher; daughter-in-law Tamera Butcher; daughter Martha Kelly; son-in-law R.C. Kelly; daughter Marian Temple; son-in-law Danny Temple; son Stephen Butcher; and daughter-in-law Gina Butcher; grandchild Christina Fleeman, grandchild Jackey Butcher, grandchild Rachel Stauffer, grandchild Rebekah Bishop, grandchild Robert Kelly, grandchild Verity Warren, grandchild Daniel Temple, grandchild Gene Temple, grandchild Victoria Butcher, grandchild Jessica Butcher, great grandchild - 23 and great great grandchidlren 3 With 2 On The Way.
H. E. was preceded in death by; father Charles Edward Butcher and mother Mable Irene Sanders Butcher.
A visitation for H. E. will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2001 W. Pioneer Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2001 W. Pioneer Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. A graveside service will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
Serving as pallbearers are Jackey Butcher, Robert Kelly, Daniel Temple, Gene Temple, Carl Wilkinson and Johnny Bishop Sr.
