Diann Reese

Diann grew up in Aberdeen, where she graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1961. Diann married James Ollie Reese, Jr. on April 21, 1961, in Aberdeen. They were happily married for 47 years, until Jim's death in 2009. After her husband retired from USN, she worked for Centex Homes as an Executive Assistant for 30 years, retiring 15 years ago. Diann was a member of the Sassy Jewels, Red Hat Society, where she was their Beloved Queen Mother Emeritus. She helped pack meals for Rise Against Hunger and assisted with other local community activities. She enjoyed going on cruises and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She lived a full and joyful life, making sure every day counted.

Diann is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jacquelyn Reese; her husband, James Ollie Reese; brother, Michael Brown; and her fiancé, Arthur Jelly.

Survivors include son, James Reese of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Stacey Reese Clark of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five granddaughters, Jamie & Brianne Reese, Jasmine & Autumn Potter and Kealey Clark; two great-grandsons, Daemon Ibarra, and Barnabus “Bear” Boyd; three great-granddaughters, Eliza Potter, Ruby Carroll, and Hazel Armstrong; her sisters, Phyllis White of Houston, Texas and Mary Kay Brown of Columbus, Mississippi; brothers, Tex Brown of West Point, Mississippi and Ron Brown of Greenville, Mississippi.

A Memorial Service for Diann will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, Texas.
