He worked in real estate sales.
Survivors include his companion, Arlene Stolte of Parker; one son, Bryan L. of Lansing, Kansas; two daughters, Brenda S. Johnson of Aurora and Cynthia A. Lambert of Grand Junction; one sister, Tookie Foster of Grand Junction; and six grandchildren.

Robert W. Bacon

Robert W. Bacon, 80, of Grand Junction, CO passed away suddenly Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Robert Willoughby Bacon, son of Joseph Walter Bacon Sr. and Ruth Lucille Cason-Bacon was born August 6, 1935, at home in Port Barre, Louisiana. Bob spent his early childhood in Louisiana; moving to Grand Junction in 1938. He attended Lincoln Park School, Hawthorne Park Elementary, and Grand Junction Junior High. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1953. Bob graduated from Mesa Junior College in 1955. He also attended Western State College in Gunnison, CO.
Bob was a passionate baseball player and played for the Old Timers Association. In 1948 the OTA was the undefeated State Champion. Bob also played baseball for GJHS, and Mesa Junior College. He continued to play softball into middle age. He was a passionate Colorado Mesa University baseball supporter and fan, attending home games with former teammates at Mesa College.
On March 18, 1956, Bob was married to Gwendolyn Sue Smith. They later divorced. Bob and Gwen have three children, Bryan Lee Bacon, Brenda Sue Bacon Johnson (Byron), and Cynthia Ann Bacon Lambert (Reuben).
Bob was employed by A.E.C. Laboratory, American Gilsonite, and Foster Vending Company before leaving the area to move to Southern California. Bob and Gwen made their home in Anaheim, CA where he was employed by Richfield Oil Company. The family returned to Grand Junction in 1971. Bob was the Manager of Powderhorn Ski Area Restaurant and Bar and owned and operated Bacon Realty. He was also employed by Munro Supply in Grand Junction.
He is survived by his three children, Bryan Bacon of Lansing, KS; Brenda Johnson of Aurora, CO, and Cindy Lambert of Grand Junction, CO. He also is survived by six grandchildren, Ross (Nancy) Bacon, Kurt (Sandra) Bacon, Bryce Lambert Padilla (Anthony) and Patrick Lambert (Tevis) of Grand Junction, CO; Kendall Johnson and Trent Johnson of Aurora, CO; sister, Tookie Foster of Grand Junction, CO, and his special companion, Arlene Stolte of Parker, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Bacon; sister, Patricia Claire Bacon Carnett, and baby brother, Joseph Walter Bacon, Jr.
Graveside services are to be held at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery (Masonic) on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
