Dick was born in Newman, California to the union of William Antonio and Rose Silva. He was a United States Navy Veteran and graduated from Colorado State University in Ft Collins with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Range Management. Dick was a Range Conservationist and a member of the Society for Range Management. More recently, he was a driver for Mesa County Grand Valley Transit and had lived in the Palisade area for thirty years.
While attending a Portuguese Chamarita (Portuguese dance and religious function), Dick met Bernice Perry and she would become the love of his life, they later married on March 3, 1956 in Reno, NV. They would be married for fifty-nine years until her death on December 28, 2015 in Grand Junction.
Dick leaves behind his four children, Valerie Vial, Julie Abrames, Bernice Wailes. and Richard W. Antonio Jr. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2020 at Martin Mortuary with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. A committal service for family only will follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, CO.
