Marilyn Taylor, 67, of Grand Junction, Colorado, went home to be with her Lord earlier this month. Born on December 15th to Alex and Marilyn Wilkie. She spent her formative years in St. George, Utah. Later moving to Fruita, Colorado where Marilyn graduated from Fruita Monument High School. She furthered her education at the Academy of Beauty Culture in Grand Junction, Colorado, earning a license in Cosmetology. Marilyn worked as a master colorist and adored hairstylist for many years; volunteering at Community Hospital later in her life. She retired on the Western Slope where she found comfort in her church family at Clifton Assembly of God.
Marilyn was known for her unparalleled wit and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Her life was characterized by a childlike sense of wonder and a fiercely independent spirit, which made a positive impact on everyone around her.
With her striking blue eyes, thick auburn hair, and infectious laughter, Marilyn’s rare and captivating beauty was a reflection of her spirited nature. Her hair, often wild and untamed, symbolized her vibrant personality.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her beloved daughters, Ashley Stout and Sloan White; her father, Alex Wilkie; her stepmother, Penny Wilkie; her sister, Kim Ence; and many others who were touched by her beauty and love. She is also survived by a cherished memory of her grandmother Alma Wilkie, her mother Marilyn Wilkie, her brother Alex Wilkie Jr., and her late husband Tim Taylor, who await her in heaven.
Marilyn’s continuous faith in God and belief in a better place beyond this earthly realm provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
