On Saturday, November 5th, John F. Conger, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away. He was eighty one. John was born April 25th 1941 to Dorothy and Lloyd H. Conger in Pueblo, Colorado. John graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado and began working for the Denver Water Board on April 24th 1961. He married Connie Sue Fowler on June 23rd 1961. John served in the United States Army from September 23rd 1966 to August 19th 1968, including one tour in Vietnam. John separated as a Specialist/5 and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge (M-14).
John and Connie had one son; Larry S. Conger born 30 November 1970. John retired from the Denver Water Board on June 23rd 1996, after 35 years of service. John was an avid hunter and fisher. He taught Hunter Safety and was issued the 1st Hunter Safety certificate (No. 1) from the Colorado Division of Wildlife. John was also active in Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and served as the Post Commander for the Golden Post 4171 in 1998 and 1999. John is survived by his wife Connie, and their son, Larry and his wife Brenna, and his Grandchildren William (Kaden) Taylor, Kiera S. Taylor, Kylin (Annie) Taylor and Vonnegut (Vonn) Conger.
