He born was in on April 28, 1937 in Dos Palos California, to his Father John Stewart and his Mother Elizabeth Hobbs. Spending most of his childhood in Santa Barbara California, he attended high school there. After discharge from the Navy he was married to Gina Comine, mother to his Daughter, Lori. The couple separated in 1966. Jim studied Mathematics and Hydraulics and Mechanics at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria and Cal State in Fullerton California. And continued his motorcycle racing career. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association, He raced professionally from the ages of 15 to 39. While in California, he became friends with Jimmy and Rex. Jimmy later married Jim’s sister Colleen.
While living in Colorado in 1980 Jim met and married the love of his life, Alice Thompson in Clark County Nevada. Bill Callard and his family of Grand Junction, were best friends with the Stewarts and would frequent trips and motorcycle rides together, that continue to this day. As a lifelong motorsports enthusiast, Jim loved riding, his retirement included dirt bikes and side by side rides with Allie and friends in Arizona. He also loved his dog, karaoke and standup comedy.
James is survived by his Wife Alice, his Daughter Lorie Mulligan (Kerry), Grandson; Kyle
Litzie, Granddaughter; Allison Park (Weston), Great Grandson; Bodie Park and his sisters in California; Connie Cole, Judy Sarrie (Craig), Colleen Batty (jimmy) and Marsha Stewart. We all miss him.
