She was born in Grand Junction, CO on November 4, 1936, to Elbert “Odie” and Rosie Boatright Miracle. The second born of four children she spent her early childhood in Glade Park, CO. The family moved down to the valley in 1943 where she attended River Side Elementary and Grand Junction High School.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, canning, country music, playing handheld games, and watching her favorite TV programs but the thing that brought her the most joy was being with her grandchildren. She loved them so much and they were everything to her.
She married Marvin “Nick” Ottman on Jan 23, 1953, in Grand Junction, CO. Three children were born to this union: Teresa Lehman and Nick Ottman (Becky) of Fruita, CO, and Kate Ottman of Grand Junction, CO.
She owned and operated a thrift store in Rifle, CO where she met and married Allen Buffington on Jul 2, 1978.
She went to beauty school at the age of 58 with her granddaughter Amy and was known as Grandma to her fellow classmates. After graduation, she worked as a beautician for the Palisade Nursing Home and later opened her own beauty shop in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers Coy Lester and Gilbert Miracle; sister Joyce Hubbard and grandson Michael Murray.
She is survived by her daughters and son, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
