Rev. Gerald Richard Reed

Gerald was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 6, 1936 to Roe Thomas Reed and Dora Irene (Mosgrove) Reed. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1955. He married Barbara Jones on June 24, 1960. He worked for Ventura County as a surveyor before being called into ministry. He was ordained by the Assemblies of God and he and Barbara pastored Calvary Assembly of God Church in Long Beach, CA and Selah Assembly of God in Selah, WA. They moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1984, where he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation until he retired in 1999. He never knew a stranger and continued to teach Bible studies after retirement.

He leaves behind a son, Steve (Deanna) Reed and daughter, Janet (Lance) Rowland, grand children, Jeff (Rocio) Reed, Philip (Miranda) Reed, Kayla (Jeremy) Johnson, Britni Reed, Karissa Reed, Chantela Rowland and Beau (Ashley) Rowland, and great grandchildren Andrea, Gael, Miah, Blake, Emily, Brooklynn, Devon, Abbie and Alivia.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roe and Dora Reed, his brothers, Roe, Ted and Mike Reed.

A memorial service to celebrate Gerald's life will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 10:00 am at Callahan-Edfast, 2515 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81505.
