Douglas Clifford Sawtelle

He was born at St Mary’s Hospital on May 4, 1938.

He graduated from Grand Junction High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree at CSU with a major in Physical Science with emphasis on mathematics, Chemistry and Education.

He married Charlene (Pinkerton) Sawtelle in 1966.

He is survived by daughter Laurie Sawtelle, two step-daughters; Connie (Gage) Miracle and Debra Gage. He is also survived by granddaughter Shannone Armstrong and one grandson Lucas Benson.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife Charlene and three grandchildren; Brittany, Christa and Tom.

He met and was engaged to Marlene Brantley.

He was employed at Union Carbide and the Department of Energy as a Chemist.

He enjoyed the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends, his dogs and happy memories with Marlene.

A family gathering will take place at a later date.
