Dell Len Johnson

Dell grew up in Peoria, IL. He moved to Odessa, TX in 1955 where he met his future wife. They married in 1956 and had 4 boys. He served in the Air Force for 4 years then became a diesel mechanic and later in life owned pawn shops. After he retired, he worked for the city of Grand Jct. for the Parks Department for 13 years. He reluctantly retired at the age of 82. Dell was an avid hunter and loved fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson of Whitewater, CO; sons, Timothy L. Johnson of Anderson, CA, Paul O. Johnson (Vonnie) of Dayton, TN, Ronald L. Johnson (Louise) of Grand Jct., CO; sisters, Mary Jane Whitney (Lew) of Las Vegas, NV, Gertrude Jones of Suwannee, OK, Donna McAllister of Flora, IL; grandchildren, Ami S. Hauptman (Bart) of Redding, CA, Alisa L. Johnson (Pancho), Ryan A. Johnson (Emily), both of Grand Jct., CO; 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Johnson, and Nellie Blevins; sister, Betty Lydic; brothers, Joseph and Don Johnson; son, James Dell Johnson.

Visitation on January 11, 2022, from 6-8 pm at Martin Mortuary.

Funeral service on January 12,2022 at 10 am at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Ave., Grand Jct., CO 81501.

Burial at Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1 pm, 2830 Riverside Pkwy., Grand Jct., CO 81501.
