Corine Ferguson, 71, of Delta Colorado, passed away in the early morning hours of June 20th, 2023. She was born on August 7th, 1951, in Roosevelt, Utah, the oldest of 8 siblings. Cori was a free spirit who loved to travel and explore new places. She had a tremendous love for her nieces and nephews, whom she helped to raise and loved them as her own. She was best known for her loving, funny and quick-witted personality.
Cori graduated from West High School and went on to earn a degree in accounting from Salt Lake Community College. She worked as a seamstress throughout her career.
In her free time, Corie loved to play board games and go camping. She cherished these moments with her family and friends.
Corie is survived by her sons Richard Ferguson husband of Kristina Ferguson and Pat Ferguson, husband of Elizabeth Ferguson, sisters Reina and Ilene, brother Lloyd and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cori was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Ferguson, mother, Charlotte Carter Ferguson and sisters Belinda, Carol, Ceila and Alice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her nephew Ramon and his wife Lucy Montoya for taking her in and loving her in her later years of life. To her niece Felicia Lucero, for the wonderful round the clock care, love and support that she provided Corie in the last years of her life. We would also like to thank Hope West Hospice for the tender attention that they paid to Cori through her last days and to Martin’s Mortuary for the great service in fulfillment of Cori’s wishes upon death.
A celebration of Cori’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 11 AM at Victory Outreach SLC, located at 2900 S. W. Temple. A luncheon will follow the ceremony.
