Charles Smith Harvey

Charles Harvey, age 80, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Charles was born on March 22, 1943 in Binghamton, NY to Harold Harvey and Ruth Parliment Harvey. He spent his childhood in upstate New York, and his career took him to Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Illinois before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado to start his own business, and where he has been a resident for the past 31 years.

Charles was the beloved husband of Barbara Peterson Harvey and was a member of First Congregational Church in Grand Junction, as well as a member of the Redlands Lions Club. Outside of work, Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and traveling.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara; his parents, Harold and Ruth; and his sister, Claire Bush.

Survivors include his son, Chris Harvey and his wife Karen of Grand Junction, CO; his daughter, Pamela Shafer and her husband Braden of Grand Junction, CO; and his 4 grandchildren, Chase Harvey and his wife Kayla, Colton Harvey, Grant Shafer, and Reese Shafer.

A celebration of life for Charles will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2pm.
