Chuck was born on August 20, 1926 in West Babylon, Long Island, New York to Frederick and Rose Wagner. Chuck attended school there through high school and graduated as valedictorian in 1945.
After graduation, he volunteered for service in the Army Air Force. After basic training he was stationed as a radio operator on the island of Antigua where he served for 2 years.
After returning to the United States, he attended Wheaton College in Chicago for pre-medicine, earning his degree in 3 years. Then he attended Illinois School of Medicine where he earned his MD, graduating June 18th, 1954.
On June 26th 1954 he married Lida Emma Henry. While living in the Chicago area they had three sons: Frederick, Carl and Mark. In 1963 they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where he was a Doctor of Internal Medicine at the VA Hospital. He retired in 1988.
Chuck enjoyed camping and taking trips with his family, picnics, reading books and watching Sci-Fi shows.
He was a longstanding member of Messiah Lutheran Church and School, where he was a member of the choir.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lida on March 2nd 2006. He is survived by Fred, Carl (Wilma), Mark (Diane), grandchildren Karen (Husband Ethan) Bartlett, Kevin Wagner, Brandon (wife Jessica) Lee, Ashley (husband Ryan) Albertson, and great grandchildren Connor Lee and Makenzie Albertson.
Charles was a devoted husband to his wife of 51 years and father of his children and will be greatly missed.
