Cecil Jim Murphy

Cecil Jim Murphy, age 61, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. Jim was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 25th, 1963, to Cecil Edward Murphy and Lynda Earlene Stanley. He spent his childhood in Texas and Colorado, graduating from Olathe High School in Olathe, Colorado. Following high school, Jim served in the United States Army National Guard. After his service, he pursued a career as a Master Mason, known for his dedication to perfection in every project he undertook, ensuring everything was meticulously crafted until the last brick was laid. Jim enjoyed various hobbies including fishing, camping, reading, spending time with family, watching westerns, gold panning, and archery. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil, his mother Lynda, and his brother David Glen Murphy. Jim is survived by his wife, Jessica Diane (Jones) Murphy; his sons, Cecil James Murphy, Justin Garrett Murphy, Leroy Ross Murphy, and Cecil Jace Murphy (grandson); his step-sons James Loren Ridley and Blake Dwayne Ridley, his daughter, Brittany Ann Hamilton; his brother, Eddie Ross Murphy; his sisters, Kathy Lynn Pricer and Gina Rene Murphy-Hatfield; and four grandchildren. A service will be held in Jim's honor at Orchard Mesa Baptist Church on July 23rd at 10:30 am with a celebration of life to follow at Eagles Aerie #595 at noon.
