Beverly Kaye Hartman

March 3, 1941 - March 7, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of Beverly Hartman announces her passing at HopeWest Care Center on March 7, 2015, at the age of 74, after fighting a long heart-related condition.

Beverly was born in Tulsa, OK on March 3, 1941, to Herbert A. and Bernice A. Hirschman. She grew up in Denver, and moved to Grand Junction as a ninth grader. She is a graduate of Grand Junction High School and Colorado State University with a major in Biology.

She married Robert A. ""Bob"" Hartman in April, 1966. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, Derek and Michael.

Beverly was proud to be an educator, and was especially interested in encouraging young girls to become involved in science. She taught in Denver, Grand Junction, Fruita, and at-risk students in Salina, KS.

She was a published author having created many science related educational posters, and an instructional '100 Best Ideas for Primary Science' workbook for teachers of children K-3.

Beverly could tell a good story, and entertained all who knew her with the many humorous classroom experiences. Always positive and enthusiastic, she was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by many, and forever loved.

Beverly was preceded in death by son, Michael. She leaves behind her husband; son, Derek, and sisters, Barbara (Laird) Milburn of Grand Junction, and Bonnie (Jim) Kratovil of Charles Town, WVA.

The family has honored Beverly's request to be cremated. Family and friends are welcome to share their memories of Beverly at the Hartman home, 572 Norma Jean Ct., on Saturday, April 4th at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Beverly's name, may be sent to any charitable organization of your choice, Home Care of the Grand Valley, or HopeWest.
