SUTTON, Ruth Caroline – age 92 of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully, Friday April 24, 2015 at Regency at Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 2PM-8PM. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church – 2610 Martin Luther King Avenue Flint, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Monica M. Villarreal officiating. Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Ruth was born November 22, 1922 to the late Wilhelm and Eva (Safvelin) Hillgren. She loved the Lord and was an active devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church for 88 years. She was always proud of her Swedish heritage and was a member of the Viking Lodge #730 Vasa Order of America. She was united in marriage to James K. Sutton (her High School sweetheart) in 1942. She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Stephen (Sharlyn) Sutton; daughter, Carrie (Richard) Maczka; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James K. Sutton; sister, Mae Long; grandson, Joshua Sutton; and special friend, Howard Weaver. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Regency at Grand Blanc for their tender care.
