I was truly shocked and saddened to hear that Bob had passed away.  Bob and I were both graduates of Lehigh and we both enjoyed sharing our memories of our college days whenever we saw each other. (I graduated in 1946.)  Another thing, we both lived in Pennsylvania!  (I grew up in Allentown...not too far from York.)  We both were employed at SSOE.  We both were shareholders.  We both were mechanical engineers.  At that point our similarities end.  (When we got together, we always joked about the similarities we shared...but we could never agree which of us was the better looking.)
I'll inform the Alumni Assoc. of his death and forward them a copy of his obit.
My sincere condolences to his wife and family.
 My wife died a year ago, a victim of Alzheimers, so I know what it means to lose a loved one.
I will pray for him.

I enjoyed working with Bob on several projects and corporate committees at SSOE Engineers-Architects. He always brought forth great ideas and was always soft-spoken in his approach to problem solving. He treated everyone with kindness and respect. A true gentleman who could be taken at his word. My sincerest condolences to his family on the passing of this true friend and business partner.

I remember your dad, Steve (and your grandfather, Tyler) as such a warm, calm, kind man.  My heart is with you and your family.  I wish you peace.

I appreciate Bob Throop. He got my career started at SSOE and mentored and trained me under his direction. He was a very helpful person. He will be missed.

Bob was the consummate professional and a wonderful mentor to me throughout my career.  I will always remember and appreciate his friendship and guidance.  Amy and I are saddened by his passing and our hearts go out to Gloria and their family.

Putting into words for all to read is a tough battle. Losing someone so close to our family with all the memories we shared. Is, impossible at this time. All I can is my words are weak but my emotions strong over the loss of Uncle Bob. Aunt Gloria and guys, my love goes out to you and my prayers abound that you made find peace in knowing Uncle Bob is no longer suffering. And he is among great company. May God be with you and the family at this emotional time. I am truly sorry for your loss!!!

Bob was such a wonderful man and gave so much to his church family. I am so blessed to have known him and worked with him in the church. Gloria and the children have my thoughts and prayers, always.

Gloria, Eve and family - you are all in my prayers.   I was blessed to spend a lovely Easter with you and still cherish the memory of the day spent with a loving, welcoming family.  May God hold you all in his loving arms in the coming days and months, and going forward.
