Rick Lee White

Rick Lee White, age 65 of Grand Blanc, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019. He was born February 26, 1954 in Flint to parents Robert and Phyllis (Greenman) White. Rick worked as a Crane Operator at R.L. White Steel Erectors for several years and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. He was a dedicated worker who enjoyed a sense of balance and being able to enjoy the final product and finishing touches of his work. His dad told everyone that Rick could “make a crane hum!” and that he was the best crane operator he’d ever seen. After his years at R.L. White Steel Erectors he owned a Radio Shack in Tecumseh, Ohio. Rick was “techy” and loved tinkering around with technology so much that he’d drive an hour and a half each way to work at his Radio Shack every day. After a few years there, he went back and became a Project Manager at R.L. White Development and Construction. He was good at managing and had a distinct talent for being able to come up with quick solutions, troubleshoot, and execute his plan. Rick obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying Cessna planes, saying that there was nothing more peaceful than flying a plane at dusk. He loved music and was a self-taught guitar player – most recently being a volunteer musician at Holy Family Catholic Church. Though he enjoyed all of these things, Rick’s main passion was cars. He was an avid car enthusiast, especially Corvette’s, and he even started a Corvette club with a friend. He was a man of faith and integrity, and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. More than anything, Rick was loving and generous and he adored his family. Rick is survived by his wife of 20 years, Madeline White; children: Bob (Melanie) White, Richard (Renee) White, and Jolee Kay White; grandchildren: Maia, Joy, Melea, Miles, Toby, Connor, Kara, and Raegan; mother, Phyllis White; many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert White, and brother, Craig White. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Father Phil Schmitter celebrating. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors again on Saturday, one half hour prior to mass, beginning at 11am. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Christ the King Catholic Church in Flint or St. Francis Prayer Center in Flint in honor of Rick.
