Happy Birthday, Patty! I love and miss you!

Thinking of my friend, Patty with Love . . .

I find an old photograph
and see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love. 

I read an old card
sent many years ago
during a time of turmoil and confusion.
The soothing words written then
still caress my spirit
and bring me peace. 

I remember who you used to be
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
Where did you go,
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly? 

Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colors
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow. 

I miss your being
but I feel your presence,
In whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be. 

Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over me. 

I remember you. 
You are with me 
and I am not afraid.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Patty.  We were in Pantherettes together in high school and marched in the same line.  She was always a kind person and a friend to all.  My wishes of God's love to her family at this time.

To Bruce and Family,
I am so saddened to hear about my friend Patty.  So many memories here in California.  I am so, so, sorry to hear of Patty passing.  Bruce I still remember all of the fun times and remember and cherish them always.  I pray for you and strength which I know will be hard because she was and always shall be the love of your life.  I will always hold Patty in my heart and love her always.  Love to you Bruce and God Bless.

Dear Patty Cakes...tears fill my eyes as I type this message.  I remember the first day I met you while catching the bus to Delphi.  I sat behind you and you introduced yourself with this big smile on your face.  I remember thinking to myself how beautiful your skin and teeth were, plus, the lovely shade of pink lipgloss you were wearing.  We talked the entire way to and from work and continued that tradition Monday thru Friday.  I miss your upbeat and positive attitude and most of all your beautiful smile, face, and caring heart.  I will never forget about the story you told about the chicken in the bush...absolutely hilarious! You will be greatly miss but I find comfort in knowing that you're looking down on all of us everyday.  I love you, Patty Cakes!

Bruce and family:
May the Light of God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.  Patty "Lou" was a very dear friend to me.  She was always witty and quick to joke.  I enjoyed our long talks about life and love.  She was a very spiritual person and faithful. She will be deeply missed.

My sincere, heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the family of a very lovely lady, Patty.  I enjoyed the bus rides a few years ago when we traveled to Delphi in Troy. It's comforting to know she was a believer in Jesus Christ and is with Him now.  1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care on Him; for He careth for you. God be with Bruce and all of the family.

I am very shocked and saddened by the news that Patty is gone.  One thing is for sure that she is in Heaven. She had a big heart and a wonderful smile.  I worked at Delphi with Patty, she was beautiful inside and outside. She had a beautiful complexion and I always tried to get her secrets. I enjoyed out chats and our lunches, even our bus rides. God bless you in your time of sorrow and know that she is in a better place and will never be forgotten.

Patty has started a precious section in heaven for the bus family.  We shared so many of our California experiences, which made knowing Patty extra special.  Although I didn’t meet Darlene until today, we certainly knew about all the adventures and her visits to Flint. The story about Bruce and the chicken in the bush was hilarious.   It was a pleasure working with Patty because she never failed to show her faith.  We pray that God comfort and strengthen you through this time of loss.

Many of my High School memories include Patty. Time flies so fast but at times it feels like yesterday. Although my heart is broken from the loss of her presence on earth , I am full of joy knowing that Patty was a fellow believer in Christ and I will look forward to seeing in one day in heaven....

Dear Bruce and family,
   My heartfelt condolences to all of you.  Patty was a very special friend to me.  I will always appreciate and treasure her sense of humor, her ability to truly listen, her love for her friends and family (including her dogs,of course),and most of all her strong faith.
   Over the years we have written many letters, laughed and cried on the phone for countless hours, and continued to do the same over her kitchen table and on her porch.  I will miss Patty greatly and carry my memories of her close to my heart. 
   May you find comfort in the knowledge that Patty continues to live in all of us who love her.

Patty has been my sister's (Joi) friend for just about forever.  Through Joi, Patty and I started emailing over the last 2 years.   In my last email from Patty, she wrote these words that I thought I would share with you all:
 " I am in God's hands as always.  
It has been a slow arrival for spring.  Not in the 70's yet....still chill in the air, but the birds are chirping and the trees are starting to blossom.  Flowers are coming up as well.  Time to commit to walks with Brandi in the mornings.  The snow is gone!!!!"
Through the many difficulties, she always had a bright thought, a sense of God that could not be shaken and she always offerred prayer for me and my husband.  We have lifted her up in prayer through her health challenges and now trust that she is lifted up in our Father's wonderful presence with no more pain and no more worries.  God Bless you all.

Dearest Bruce and family. I have been friends with Patty since we were 10 and 11 years old. We had so many sayings that we have carried thru the years that have made us laugh time and time again. She always made me laugh and always was definitely the life of my party when I was in the dumps (most of the time). She was my best friend and my little sister and sometimes my mom. I feel like a great and wonderful part of my life will be missing. All of my family sends their love and share in your loss. I am however confident that she is well and with her strong beliefs and faith she is with God and her family that has gone before her. She is finally able to do all things she couldn't do these last few years being so sick. We love you and send our prayers to all of you.

Bruce and family we will miss Patty so much, had so many laughs and good times with her. She always had something funny to say and teasing her about her minnie mouse voice was the best. I am so sad to hear about Patty's passing.  I feel like I just saw her. Darlene, my friend, take care of yourself through this time. I am there for you.

Patty was so very special.....always so kind and so upbeat.  I will miss hooking up with her for lunch and sharing our life stories.  We worked together for several years and she was so dedicated.  What a beautiful picture of her....she always had her makeup so nice, hair perfect and jewelry....we loved to compare our "jewels".  I am shocked and saddened..I will miss her deeply!!!! I loved Patty...my heart is very heavy.

There is only one word for Patti and that is sweet.  We had great lunches together and long long talks.  I was forever telling her she was spoiling those dogs with much to much people snacks.  She would tell me she would try and do better of course with a smirk on her face.  She loved those two pups, and took it hard when she lost Freckles.  She is now with him and all of her loved ones.  But I know she will always be around keeping an eye on all of her friends and loved ones she has left behind.  Not seeing her smiling face will be the hard part.  She will be greatly missed. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Patty.  I used to work with her at the Tech Center in Flint.  We liked to talk about our dogs.  She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met.  She will be missed very much.  Heaven will be a better place with "Patty Lou" there.  My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

My profound condolences to you all of you. Patty and I used to love listening to Jim Croce and talking about how much we loved MASH episodes. God bless you all and may the Holy Spirit comfort you in this painful time.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of one of my best friends, Patty. I will miss her laughter, smile and all our long talks about life.  She had strong faith in God and I know that she is up in Heaven with her parents and her dogs, rejoicing in seeing them all again. I was absolutely blessed to have her for my friend, a true blessing from God above. RIP, my friend. My deepest sympathy to Bruce and her family.
