Mary Margaret Faller Cady was taken unexpectedly to heaven on October 6, 2020. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with Rosary Service at 7:00pm at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Funeral Mass with be celebrated on October 10, 2020 at 11:00am with one hour of visitation prior to the mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church – 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Michigan. Interment to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. Mary was born on August 23, 1940 to the late Lucas and Agnes (Bowen) Faller in Flint, Michigan. She attended K-8, St. Agnes Catholic School, Flint and graduated from Flint Technical High School in 1958. While a first year student at Flint Junior college, she met her future husband Daniel Cady. They were married November 5, 1960 at St. Agnes church and survived 60 years! Following her marriage she became, and loved it, a full time mother and homemaker. She and Dan have four children, Maureen (Clay), Thomas (Marianna), Colleen (Tom) and Kathleen (Michael). Mary was especially fond of her grandchildren: Katie, Christopher, Alexandra (Marshall), Daniel, Michael, Jacqueline, Gillian, Jameson, Mary Margaret, and Luke. After raising her children, she resumed her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State University. After a lifetime of volunteering for the Girl Scouts (3 daughters) she became a full time employee for the Girl Scouts-Fairwinds Council. Her work was her passion and she retired from the Girl Scouts. At the time of her death, she was still an active member of the Girl Scout Alumni. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, an honorary member of both the Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Association, Bombay Club, and a Master Gardener. Her yard always reflected her love of flowers. Mary and Dan were members of St. John Vianney Catholic Parish for more than 50 years. At the church, Mary was a Hand Maiden (Charwoman), a volunteer at funeral luncheons and the church food bank. She was also actively involved for several years as the treasurer of the St. Luke’s N.E.W. Life Octoberfest, for many years, she volunteered for the Flint community schools. She was a charter member of the Champagne Ladies Card Club. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lucas and sister, Jane Marie. She is survived by her husband, Dan, four children, their spouses, and ten grandchildren. “A kindly, loving lady taken too soon – May she rest in peace.” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Parish Fund in memory of Mary.
