BROWN, Kathleen Ann – age 71 of Flint, MI passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 1PM-8PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, May, 16 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church – 6340 Roberta St. Burton, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the Mass. Father Robert Bacik celebrating. Burial will be immediately following at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, MI. Kathy was born on February 13, 1946 in Flint, MI to the late Charles F. and Mary M. (Murphy) Darland. She married Douglas Brown on August 5, 1966 in Flint, MI. Kathy was a secretary for the Flint Community Schools in the Special Education Department. She enjoyed latch hook, traveling to see the tall ships and lighthouses, and spending time at the cottage up north in Caseville. Kathy also had a love for nature, cardinals, and caring for stray animals that would find their way to her home. She had a sweet tooth and loved her Diet Coke. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband Douglas of 51 years; children, Angela (Tim) Harrington, Patrick Brown, and Joanna (John) Coselman; grandchildren, Nick, Doug, Ashley, Tiffany, Daniel, and Cassandra; great-grandchild, Bentley; and sister-in-law, Patti Brown.
