BINDER, JULIUS B. age 90, of Flint, died peacefully at his residence Thursday, February 18, 2016. Julius was born April 8, 1925 in Newark. NJ, the son of Peter and Minnie (Sussman) Binder. In 1943 Julius graduated from Bendle High School and served in the U.S. Army during WW II. In 1950 he graduated from Albion College. In 1959 Julius married Patsy Ann Graves of Beecher, MI. He was employed at Binder’s Department Store, later becoming the Co-founder and CEO of Binder’s Big and Tall Menswear in Burton and Saginaw MI, for 56 years, Julius proudly served on the Burton Downtown Development Assoc. and the Genesee County Parks and Recreation Committee, including the building of Huckleberry Railroad and Crossroads Village. He enjoyed wintering in his Boynton Beach, FL home. Preceded in death by his loving parents Peter and Minnie Binder and brother Herbert J. Binder. Surviving are children Brenda Binder of MI, Robert (Sandra) Binder of MI, and Sandra Binder of FL; grandsons Justin and Aaron Haskins; great-granddaughter Ava; cousins Patricia Binder and family, Harry Binder and family, Jules Blaustein and family; beloved companion Marcia Bayles. Funeral Services and Interment will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday February 21, 2016 at the Chapel at Machpelah Cemetery. Julius was a member of Congregation Beth Israel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chabad House Of Eastern Michigan, Congregation Beth Israel or Hospice Compassus, all of Flint, MI.
