John Elzie Elder Sr

John Elzie Elder, Sr. age 84, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. John was born on December 30, 1939 to the late Donald and Roberta Elder (Varner) in Malden, Missouri. John was raised in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Schools. In 1958, John joined the United States Army. After serving in the Army, John's love for music became a career. Music was John's life and he played in the Mid-Michigan area for many years. John excelled at both singing and playing guitar, with a Country Music focus. John loved the impact music had on people and he loved making people happy with his music. He was a people person and had a great sense of humor. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly.

John leaves to cherish his memory, son; John Elder, Jr., step-daughter; Susan Armstrong, sister; Donna Marshall, his grandchildren, and many friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Janice, daughter; Traci, and step-son; Brad Morey.

At this time, there will be no service for John. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
