George Michael Goodrich

GOODRICH, GEORGE MICHAEL age 82, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, Pontiac MI. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St, Grand Blanc, MI. Fr. Peter Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. followed by a Knights of Columbus Service, at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI and from 9:30 to 10:30 before Mass at Church. George was born October 16, 1936 in Detroit Michigan to parents George and Helen (Jagonic) Goodrich. George graduated from Catholic Central in 1955. He was a Drum major for the National Guard. George was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, honorary member the St. Jude Knights of Columbus Council #6383 and the Rosary Brigade, and the American Legion Post #186. He retired from Chrysler Automotive in 1991. He served as a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America and worked as a volunteer fire fighter for Sterling Heights, MI. He loved to cook for the Michigan Club in Florida. Surviving are wife Shirley; children David (Susan) Goodrich, Gary Goodrich, Gregory (Karen) Goodrich, Martin (Michaela) Goodrich, Lori (Jeffrey) Austin, Daniel (Angela Hovind) Goodrich; grandchildren Jennifer, Nicole, Kyle, Austin, Amanda, Albert, Janet, Joseph, Adam, Christian, Joshua, Jeremy, Rene, Caleb, Wyatt; great-grandchild Conor; sister Theresa Halgren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Michael in 2015 and granddaughter Krystal in 1988.
