Florence Nesser, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center surrounded by members of her family. Florence was born September 29, 1927 in Flint to parents Alex and Faye (Shemes) Nesser. She retired from the City of Flint in 1994 after 48 years of service and was a beloved aunt to her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Her positive attitude, kindness, and generous spirit were gifts to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, politics, current events, and especially spending time with her family. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Julia, Madeline, Mary, Minnie, and Roger. Surviving are nieces and nephews: Leigh Brisbin, Bob (Judy) George, Dan (Dawn) George, Kathy George, and Tim (Amy) George, Michelle (David) Gilkes, and Lorrie (Scott) McCarty as well as many grand nieces and nephews. Per Florence's wishes, there won't be any services, but a celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
