Donald Frederick Barrow, age 90, of Grand Blanc, died after a three-year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The service will also be streamed on Facebook Live. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm . Following current Michigan COVID guidelines, face coverings are required for entry and only 25 visitors are permitted at a time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reverence Hospice or the Michigan Humane Society.
Donald Frederick Barrow, age 90, of Grand Blanc, died after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born on November 19, 1930, in Detroit to Canadian parents Mildred and Stanley Barrow. He started his career in travel after graduating from the University of Western Ontario. Through his involvement in the Wayne State University Alumni Singles, he met and married Patricia Poff. Together they had two children, Kim and Doug. Don worked with the Canadian Pacific Railway Co.; Chicago, Duluth & Georgian Bay Transit Company aboard the SS South American; American Airlines; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines; Wonderland Travel Service and Uniglobe SSV Travel. Don and Pat enjoyed 55 years of marriage and a lifetime of travel. Don was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Flint, as well as dog lover, who knew all the neighbors in Indian Hill by the names of their dogs. His wife Patricia preceded him in death, in June 2019. Surviving are: daughter Kim of Redford, MI; son Doug (Sarah) Barrow of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren Dylan Barrow of Fitchburg, WI and Kate Barrow of Manchester, IN; sisters Mary Ellen McAlpin and Barbara Riddle of Lincoln, CA.
