Christina Velez Massie (Rosencrants)

Christina Velez Massie (Rosencrants), age 77, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She was born on January 15, 1945 in Flint, Michigan to the late Frank Anthony Velez and Clara May Yale.

Christina graduated from St. Matthews High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from St. Joseph Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in 1964. Following her schooling on September 5, 1964, Christina married the love of her life, Hollis J. Massie (Rosencrants). For 17 years, she worked as a Tax Professional and Office Manager for H&R Block. Christina could be found tending her garden, being outdoors, camping at her favorite spot in West Branch, Michigan, and creating beautiful artwork. However, she was happiest on the golf course, enjoying her favorite sport. Overall, her highest achievements were being a mother to all that came into her home and maintaining patience raising her five children.

Christina is survived by her loving husband, Hollis J. Massie; children: Michele Foeller, Ferdinand Frank (Shari) Massie, Lisa (Billy) Holloway, Paula (fiancé, William Bierl) Loughridge, and Hollis (Heather) Massie; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Clara Velez; three sisters; and mother-in-law, Grace Rosencrants.

A visitation for Christina will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1pm-8pm with a rosary at 6pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Christina will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, Michigan on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and International Liver Cancer Association in memory of Christina Massie.
