I worked with Cheryl for a few years and she was a lovely person,  RIP.

To the family:  I am sorry for your loss.  I am an ISD employee where she was always so professional and accurate.  Her desk was tucked in the office so you had to pop your head in to say hello.  I was one of those people who would.  I will miss those times and conversations.  

Cheryl befriended me when we moved to Lapeer when I was a freshman in high school.  She was a senior but took me under her wing and was a true friend to me for many years.  We went to church together for several years and I will say that God really got an angel with her.  To Larry and her children I am sincerely sorry for your loss and I will be praying for you all.

There is so much I can say about Cheryl.  First my thoughts and prayers are with Larry, Keith, Theresa, Kimber and all family members.   Cheryl was foremost a woman of God and I pray that helped her and her family through this very very difficult time.   Cheryl was my boss but I considered her  my friend.  She was smart, gentle , professional, kind and fair among other great qualities.  She was someone  I looked up to. Her athleticism was something else! I would shake my head as she would say how she was up at 4 am out running 5,7 or 10 miles.   She even got me walking and had about 4 of us walking at lunchtime.  I was telling her about my shins hurting she said.  “What shoes are you wearing …. No those won’t work, we’re going shopping.”  The next day at lunch she was at my office door ‘let’s go’   Best shoes I’ve ever had.   Cheryl,  I will miss our chats..I will miss you! So many fond memories, my heart aches.   Cheryl you were one heck of a woman. May your family find comfort in your memories

Cheryl was a consummate professional and I enjoyed working with her. But what I enjoyed most of all was chatting about running, our different marathons, 1/2 marathons or other races and/or new workout routines. She was such a  dedicated athlete and so supportive regardless of how much faster she was than me.  She will be missed by so many. 

It is with fondness we remember Cheryl. It seemed she always had that mischievous smile during her high school years! Our continued prayers for you, Larry, and your family. 

Cheryl will be greatly missed. She was such a kind person and always had a smile to share. She helped  me  every school year by interviewing  my finance students and offering them her advice. Although we were colleagues, I thought of her as one of my friends. Prayers for all of Cheryl’s family.

My heart goes out to all of you. What a sweet lady. I'm so sorry for your loss. Praying for God's peace and comfort in the days ahead.

My memories go back to the first time I met you, Larry and Kimber.  We cruised on the Southern Belle and had dinner.  We made plans for our children to become husband and wife.  That was 22 years ago and we have been friends every since.   I always thought is was fate that brought them together and the fact you were born in our little town of Dayton.  We share two amazing grandsons.  Keith and Amanda are wonderful parents.  You will be missed by all of us.  My love and condolences to Larry,  Keith, Theresa and Kimber.     Sharon and Lee McDonald
