Bobbie Jean Weatherford was born in Pocahontas, AK on May 15, 1930 to Lone Allison and Willie McDonald. She grew up on a cotton farm and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1948. Married William Weatherford and moved to Flint, MI in 1949. She got a job working at A.C. Spark Plug in 1950 until she retired in 1981. She was involved in the UAW from around 1982 and became the president for retirees' chapter UAW local 651. She continued to serve as the president of this chapter for about 30 years up until the time of her death.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, William Weatherford; son, William Weatherford, Jr. and his wife, Anne Weatherford; three brothers: Paul Allison, Lowell Allison, and Jack Hawkins; and three sisters: Jennie Willenkamp, Beatice Marray, and Alta Crawford.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Brownleaf; two granddaughters: Cori Abrams (Derrick), and Teaa Alway (Levi); seven great-grandchildren: Dominick Abrams (Jazmine), Destiny Abrams, Desire Abrams, Alana Brownleaf, Daisha Abrams, Levi Alway, and Jordan Alway; one great-great-grandson, Derrick Abrams II; her sister, Dorothy Moneyhun; and one special friend, Carol Paulk (Mickey).
The family will greet friends from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 24 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Interment following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris., Michigan.
