Chip was born in Fort Pierce, Florida on January 23,1958 to Bill and Etta Merle Hendry. Chip, along with his sisters, Pam and Dion, were raised in Okeechobee, Florida. He worked building houses with Hubert Harden Construction until he graduated Okeechobee High School in 1976. He studied Business Finance and Accounting at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando. After graduating in 1980, he worked for Texas bankers Association. He became a certified Public Accountant and started at Peat Marwick. He worked on Citrus World's account and soon became their comptroller. When Chip retired last year, he was Florida Natural Growers, Chief Financial Officer, serving in that capacity for the last 30 years.
Chip was married to wife, Marilyn in 1981. They had their son Andy in 1995. He enjoyed a wonderful life with his family and friends. He loved riding dirt bikes since he was a teenager, and got Andy started at the young age of 5. It became a family event to take the bikes out on the family property in Okeechobee. Chip liked to fish, shoot, and go boating so we spent a lot of time outside. He had a love/ hate relationship with UCF Knights football. He loved going to the games and tailgating, spending time with his friends, but hated seeing them lose (which they did a lot!). He loved to travel and he did that frequently with family and friends. He visited many places, both in the USA and out of it, but his all-time favorite was, The Bahamas. His least favorite thing to do was snow ski. He had many mishaps doing that! He also loved to cook and try different cuisines.
Chip is preceded in death by his mother, Etta Merle; his mother-in-law, Helen Lukac; his father -in-law, Charles Lukac; his brother-in-law, Robert Lukac; and his sister-in-law, Linda Lukac.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hendry, his son William Andrew Hendry (Lea), his father, William L. Hendry, his sister, Pam Butler (Bob), His sister Dion Raulerson (Tommy), his brother-in-law, Sonny Lukac, his sister-in-law, Lorraine Tuminello (Ray), and many nieces and nephews.
Chip had a great sense of humor, something he inherited from his mother, and he liked to have a good time. He will be forever in our hearts, loved and missed every day.
