Stanley James Shaw was born October 3, 1946 in Camden, New Jersey. Stan joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17. After being promoted to the rank of Sgt. he was deployed to Cambodia during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic. After returning from deployment and while stationed at MacDill Air Force base is when Stan met the love of his life, Patricia. Stan and Pat met at the A & W Root Beer stand in Tampa, Florida. On June 22, 1967 they were married in Silver Spring, Maryland. They lived in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania where they started their life together. Stan always had a love for airplanes and flying. On July 31, 1977, he earned his pilots licenses and soon after he and Pat bought their first plane. Stan also had a way with computers and after earning his degree he became employed with IDM. IBM moved Stan and Pat to Orlando in 1978. In 1981, a little girl named Glenda Louise came into their life. With Stan's family now complete life could really begin. From dance recitals, birthday parties, fixing broken toys, homework, figure skating, track and field and oh boy the teenage years. Glenda sure gave her daddy a run for his money!! But Stan never gave in and has raised a respectable, well mannered woman. Stan was also very loved among the local aviation community. He was a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight, Southeast, and loved flying his airplane to help other people in need. Stan family and flying were his pride and joy. N4746R will live in our hearts forever. When you think of Stan just remember that he wants us all to be happy, to do everything to the best of our abilities, and to enjoy all that this earthly life has to offer. Although we can not see him, he is just upstairs living his eternal life with the Lord. Stan often quoted Henry Ford, "Think you can, think you can't, either way you're right". Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Patricia A. Shaw, of Orlando, his daughter Glenda L. Frazier of Tennessee, his mother, Mary F. Shaw of Arizona, his sister, Betty Parsonage of Arizona, his step-mother, Betty J. Whitley, of Maryland and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends from all across the country. Stanley was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Orlando, Florida.
