Mr. Pollard was born on a strawberry farm on November 3, 1932 to parents that had great generic history of longevity. His father died at the age of 87 and his mother at the age of 100. He served in the United States Air Force but worked for Brinks Armored Car for 17 years. He along with his loving wife also owned and operated three Christian bookstores, Shirley’s Bible Book Store for over 25 years on Michigan Avenue. He also owned a rack service and ran three rental homes. His final job was working as a courier for Air Traffic Services driving 300 – 500 miles per day for ten years. He retired at the age of 78. Upon retirement, he started writing books and he has written 22 books and booklets.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Mims Pollard; sons, Terry Wayne Pollard (Sally Ann) and Dale Eugene Pollard, and four grandchildren, Kyle Eugene Pollard, Sean Daniel Pollard, Shannon Marie Duncan, Sarah Lynn Pollard, and four great grandchildren, Nicholas Eugene, Richard Allen, Nevaeh Lynn, and Kristian Richard.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 am with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734
