Minnie Marie was born to Cornelius and Laura Westbrook on December 1,1929 on a farm in Miles, Texas. The family said that she spent her first days in a shoebox in a dresser drawer. She had nine living siblings and many cousins to play with. She lived during the Great Depression and World War II and graduated from Alameda High School in California.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and a great cook all of her life. Children were her passion and she and her husband, Billy, spent many years bringing Jesus into their lives. She continued her ministry after Billy’s death and was known as Miss Batter to many of the children in the Orlando region.
She lived a life of resilience and faith finding good and hope in every day. She awoke each day to better the world and speak of the forgiveness of Jesus. To catalogue Minnie’s life would never measure up to her positive demeanor of hope, faith and appreciation. She would want everyone to know about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.
On December 16, 2023 Jesus welcomed His disciple to the Kingdom. She was surrounded by her loving family and we know she will start a game of dominoes with Billy in heaven.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Billy, and grandson, Giulio Righetti.
She is survived by her family: son Christopher Hutchison; daughter Ann and husband Chris Cohl; daughter Jane Flaniken, grandson Erik Battles and family (Tiffany, wife, great-grandson Bruin, great-granddaughter Vaida); daughter Leigh and husband Mike Cartolaro, granddaughter Ashleigh, and grandson AJ and family (Emma, wife, great-granddaughter Tatum and soon great-grandson Reid)
She is blessing us and looking on with love. She would want her legacy to live on through faith, hope and love. Her power lives on in our hearts, our words and our hope.
