Marie Florence Bouquet was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti, on May 29, 1961. Her parents were Jean Bouquet (father) and Victoire Compere (mother), Marie being the eldest of five (Guirlande Laguerre, Mario Bien-Aise, Marie Ange Augustin, and Patrick Pierre).
After the birth of her first child, Monoucheca Hilliare, Marie had a dream. She dreamed of coming to America to chase the American dream: land, a house in which to raise a family. She arrived in America alone with just a suitcase and a boombox, with a baby on the way. Marie had three boys in America: Roosevelt Desire, Gregory Desire, and Jimmy Desire. Marie worked for Disney World for 30 years; she made magical experiences for all her guests, each leaving a lasting impression they took back home. Marie loved her job and would not miss a day.
Sadly, on December 1, 2023, Marie passed away to heaven following a stroke caused by diabetes. But not before accomplishing the American dream -- she bought her own house and completely paid it off. She left no debt behind, became a citizen, and raised four beautiful and respectful kids, with eight grandchildren: Treavon W. Desire, Jeremiah J. Alverseau, Jordan L. Desire, Angelo Theard Jr, Stella M. Desire, Zola A. Theard, Levi G. Desire, and Leo M. Desire. In 2013, Marie battled ovarian cancer and survived. Marie was strong-willed, determined, and dedicated to serving the Haitian community.
Marie Florence Bouquet will always be remembered as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend to all.
