Marcia Marie Bouknight was born on October 12, 1951 to Gloria Saunders and Harold Hamilton in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the youngest child and only sister to brothers Trevor Marsh and Luiroy Marsh. She lived on 5 Antingua Road Kingston 11 with her family and attended the All Saints Junior High and Excelsior High School. Marcia immigrated to New York City from Jamaica on May 11, 1969. She trained as a Nursing Assistant and worked with the elderly in nursing homes prior to her retirement in 2010.
Marcia was active in her church community and loved the Lord. She received the Holy Ghost at Holy Church of Christ and was ordained as an evangelist under the religious teaching of Pastor James Sims and Pastor Barbara Sims. She joined the Apostolic Worship Center when she moved to Florida and played an active role in the Senior Ministry. She enjoyed visiting nursing homes with her prayer team and being supportive of the Children’s Ministry as she loved working with and being around children. Recently, she traveled to Jamaica to participate in a Vacation Bible School there.
Marcia loved reading her Bible, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren. She also loved to shop and travel on cruises with her husband. She was a faithful, giving, supportive, and loving woman. Those who know her can confirm that she loved helping others and blindly believed in the ultimate good-nature of people.
